Foreign vessels

Foreign vessels 2011-2016. This theme shows fishing activity based on data from satellite tracking and catch data. These datasources are combined and irrelevant data is removed before the line density plots are generated. All fishing vessels over 15m length are tracked by the Norwegian Fisheries Monitoring Centre.

Coverage: Norwegian vessels are tracked everywhere, whereas foreign vessels are only tracked in the Norwegian Economic Zone, Jan Mayen zone and Svalbard Fisheries Protection zone (with the exceptions of RUS, GBR and IRL who do not recognise this zone)
