Fish Health shows information on salmon lice and disease in fish at fish farming facilities working with salmon, trout and rainbow trout.

Fish Health receives information on salmon lice from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority via Altinn, and is updated every day at 06.00.

Salmon lice are counted and reported by the fish farmers. Information reported is shown directly in Fish Health without undergoing quality assurance or being changed by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority or BarentsWatch. There may be errors in the data. The deadline for reporting salmon lice is the Tuesday of the following week.

Information on diseases in fish is received from the Norwegian Veterinary Institute, and we receive information on locations and permits from the Aquaculture Register of the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries. The system checks every four hours to see whether they have been any changes, and Fish Health is updated only when data has been changed.
