Norway Digital CSW

Catalogue service for the national geographical infrastructure in Norway. This service is based on the OGC standard "OpenGIS® Catalogue Services Specification 2.0.2 - ISO Metadata Application Profile". This service can be used to execute metadata searches from web applications or desktop applications directly in the national "map catalogue" in order to view information and gain access to geographical information.

Purpose

This service has been established in order to meet the requirements of Inspire and the Geodata Act with regard to offering a search service for geographical information. Metadata for Inspire datasets is harvested to the Inspire portal every night. Data in the national service must be capable of providing quotations for searches and lookups in metadata for geographical resources linked with the Norwegian geographical infrastructure.
