  • The service shows the last known activity status of mineral extraction sites registered at Direktoratet for mineralforvaltning (DMF), divided into the product groups building materials (superficial deposits or crushed rock), industrial minerals, metallic ore and natural stone.   • The map service for Gravel and hard rock aggregates contains information on most gravel, crushed stone deposits and quarries in Norway where the raw material are used for construction purposes. In addition, the service presents an overview of waste rock dumps, land use, volume, manufacturers, quality and about the importance as raw material for civil engineering purposes. The map service also shows the importance of the areas as a resource: international importance, national importance, regional importance, local importance, little importance or not evaluated.

  • Sediment data show mainly the prevalence of soil types covering the bedrock surface for whole Norway. Most of the soils were formed during and after the last ice age. The data shows only the soil that dominates in the upper meters of the terrain surface. Thick and thin layers by other soils may occur further down in the soil profile. The dataset was first published i 1990, and updated in 2013.
