  • Interactive map tool showing data connected to aquaculture and fisheries. The Directorate's data can here be seen in conjunction with other relevant data for use in the management of costal and marine areas. There is a selection of background maps to choose from, including satelite photographs. The service features a useful search facility- users can search for places or themes within the map. Maps can be shared by email or link, or can be printed out. Most of the data is downloadable. There is a user guide for the service.

  • Fairways are indicated through the Regulation on fairways. The entire coast of Norway is currently covered by a standardised reference system of various fairway categories. The fairway structure includes the network of maritime transport arteries and is a national geographical reference system for measures within administration, planning, development and operational activities in the coastal zone. More about the fairway structure: http://www.kystverket.no/Maritim-infrastruktur/Farleder/Farledsstrukturen/ The dataset shows the extent of the main and secondary fairway in terms of area.

  • Detailed shaded relief images of submarine landscapes with indication of depth.

  • Shaded relief map showing relief on the seabed along with depth indication in blue scale. The map gives a visual understanding of terrain and relative depth, but actual depth values are not available on this map. Only certain coastal areas, where there are bathymetry data from detailed mapping, are represented.

  • Hydrographic survey data is the most detailed depth data that the Norwegian Mapping Authority, Hydrographic Service has. This data has been collected by mapping the seabed in Norwegian coastal and sea areas. Detailed depth data for large areas of the coast has been gathered using multibeam echo sounders. Only older surveys with less detailed resolution are available for other areas. Older data is being replaced regularly as new data is collected. Hydrographic survey data includes several types of depth information. The main products are point data with position and depth (.xyz), in addition to log data (.all). For more recent surveys, log data containing backscatter information and water column data (.wcd) is also available.

  • The dataset provides an overview of the dominant sedimentation environment in the mapped area. This is an interpretation of the processes that prevail on and near the seabed in terms of erosion, transport and deposition of sediments. Based on information about the sedimentatary environment, other thematic maps can be developed, such as bottom currents, sediment transport, pollution distribution, etc.

  • Modelled distribution of marine biotopes in Astafjord, Sør-Troms.
