  • Based on the Norwegian Regulations: https://lovdata.no/dokument/SF/forskrift/2004-12-22-1878 The Norwegian Regulation on amendment to fishing operations at sea sets limitations and exclusions on trawling within certain areas.

  • In accordance with the Norwegian Regulation: https://lovdata.no/dokument/SF/forskrift/2017-12-18-2120 This datasett is produced following the regulations for catching red king crabs in the quota-regulated area east of 26°E in 2018

  • The dataset originates from 10 years' average values of sea temperature in the surface, the water masses (intervals for 5m, 15m, 30m, 50m, 100m, 150m, 200m and 250m), as well as at the seabed. The distance from the seabed with the current model setup ranges from a few cm in shallow water and up to 1.5m when the total depth is 100m or more. The temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.

  • Interactive map tool showing data connected to aquaculture and fisheries. The Directorate's data can here be seen in conjunction with other relevant data for use in the management of costal and marine areas. There is a selection of background maps to choose from, including satelite photographs. The service features a useful search facility- users can search for places or themes within the map. Maps can be shared by email or link, or can be printed out. Most of the data is downloadable. There is a user guide for the service.

  • Contains generalized distribution maps of other species in Norwegian waters. The maps are divided into layers for the different species. Examples for other species is distribution area, harvesting area, valid area.

  • In this data set the Norwegian Environment Agency stores data on marine environmental values. A marine area has high environmental value when it is important for preserving the diversity, productivity and special functions of the ecosystem, such as spawning or nesting areas.

  • This dataset shows areas where engaging in fishing nearby is prohibited, as adopted in the Norwegian Regulation on amendment to fishing operations at sea, section 66, second paragraph. The purpose is to protect coral reefs.

  • The dataset is based on Norwegian regulations governing the control of fishing using bottom trawl equipment in the Norwegian Economic Zone, the fishing zone around Jan Mayen and the fish conservation zone at Svalbard. The purpose of the regulation is to protect vulnerable benthic habitats. The rules, which are based on the "precautionary approach", define all seabed more than 1000 metres deep as vulnerable. Fishing equipment may cause major damage to these habitats. Fishing using bottom trawl equipment is basically prohibited in areas more than 1000 metres deep.

  • Generalised depth curves for Norwegian coastal and sea areas.

  • The dataset provides an overview of organic carbon concentrations in the upper ten centimetres of seabed sediments in the North Sea and Skagerrak. Results are quantitative and were estimated with spatial modelling methods. Uncertainties of the estimates are provided as well.
