The map layer shows the thickness of the upper part of the sediment cover, deposited after the end of last ice age, ca 11000 - 12000 years ago.
-
Thickness of sediments (superficial deposits) above bedrock in the Oslofjord.
-
-
The map application shows geological themes NGU have available and which are of interest within the planning process when it comes to the field of Landscape, Resources and Safety.

-
Acoustic backscatter. Bottom reflectivity mapped with multibeam echosounder, 10 m grid. The strength of the acoustic signal reflected back from the seabed.
-
Sediment thickness above bedrock on the Norwegian continental shelf.
-
The map layer shows grain size composition in upper part of seabed sediments (upper ca 50 cm of the seabed). Grain size as a property describes the percentage of different grain size classes in a sediment or superficial deposit type. The maps are digitized with a view to presentation at a scale of 1:20 000 - 1:150 000 (detailed mapping).
-
The map layer presents several thousand points with bottom information (grain size and sediment type) in fjords and coastal areas.

Acoustic backscatter. Bottom reflectivity mapped with multibeam echosounder, 50 m grid. The strength of the acoustic signal reflected back from the seabed.
