  • Modelled biotopes on the Mid-Norwegian Shelf. Seven biotopes have been identified in the area through the use of multivariate statistics, based on bathymetry, geology and dominating fauna.

  • Modelled biotopes in the NordlandVI area. MAREANO video data were to determine the biological communities and this information was put together with bathymetry, terrain and geological data to model the overall distribution of biotopes. Nine biotopes have been identified in the area through the use of multivariate statistics.

  • Modelled distribution of biotopes for the Troms III and Eggakanten areas to west Finnmark, based on quantitative video observations of oceanic fauna. Geological, morphological and oceanographic variables are used to predict the various biotopes spatial extent.

  • Biotopes are areas with distinctive benthic communities and a similar physical environment. Each biotope usually has a unique composition of species. The species are determined by the environmental conditions in the area. Four areas have so far been mapped and modeled separately: the Barents Sea (MAREANO-mapped areas), TromsIII / NordlandVII, NordlandVI and the Central Norwegian shelf. The goal is to harmonize these datasets and create a comprehensive biotope map for Norwegian sea areas.
