  • The dataset shows the location of the fire services' control rooms in Norway, and their districts. Norway currently has 17 control rooms which receive emergency calls concerning fires and accidents on behalf of the country's fire services. The districts follow the municipal boundaries.

  • The dataset Explosives facilities shows sites where explosive substances are manufactured or stored. The sites have permits from the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB); see sections 6.1 and 7.1 in the Regulation of 26 June 2002, no. 922 on the handling of potentially explosive substances (the Regulation on Explosives). Note that this does not include facilities belonging to the Norwegian Armed Forces. The dataset is only issued for use for municipal and regional emergency response, spatial planning and building application processing, and only upon direct application to kart@dsb.no or karen.lie@dsb.no at the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection.

  • Phthalate diester concentrations were measured in blubber/adipose tissue of blue whales (Balaenoptera musculus), fin whales (Balaenoptera physalus), bowhead whales (Balaena mysticetus) and polar bears (Ursus maritimus) sampled from the Barents and Greenland seas. Additionally, plasma samples from polar bears were analysed for total concentrations of phthalate monoester metabolites including their free and glucuronated forms. In vitro reporter gene assays were used to assess transcriptional activity of fin whale nuclear receptors by selected phthalates. Membrane integrity and metabolic activity were monitored as a measure for the viability of the cells used for reportor gene assays.
